Charlotte Kilmartin is a physician in the field of hospice and palliative medicine. After graduating from Miami University (Ohio) with a B.A. in Zoology, she received her medical degree from The Ohio State University.

Charlotte’s experiences working in a genetics lab, practicing medicine, and her dealings with grief inspired the science and soul of Divided Eden. The novel is infused with the complex ethics of medical care in a world where powerful genetic mutations and genetic experimentation are real.

Charlotte grew up in Ohio, has trekked the Gosaikunda pass in Nepal, lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and currently resides in the foothills of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains. Her travels in Scotland inspired the setting for Divided Eden and, if not forced to return home by her husband and daughter, she would be hiking the Cuillin hills on the Isle of Skye even now.

Charlotte has honed her writing through years as a member of Colorado’s well-known Lighthouse Writer’s Workshop. Charlotte’s other interests include free building with Legos, 80s alternative music, devouring fantasy and science fiction novels, dancing, and wrangling two unruly cats.
